Pay Range: $25 - $27.50 / hour

The job: Do you enjoy teaching and engaging children to help them learn, create and thrive? If so, this position is right for you! As a Club J JCH Coordinator, you will create and implement programs and promote learning in an after-school program for children in grades K-6. Your focus will be on the Jewish Culture and Hebrew track of Club J.   • The Core Duties:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on Jewish Culture, History, Traditions, Language and Values
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate experiences to provide a consistent learning environment that allows for emotional, cognitive, social and physical growth in children
  • Oversee the daily procedures of the Club JCH afterschool program track to ensure efficient daily operations
  • Organize program logistics, including scheduling, budgeting and supplies
The Essentials:
  • Bachelor's degree in Jewish Studies, Education, or a related field preferred
  • 2 years of experience in after-school programming, Jewish education, or youth leadership preferred
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development of Jewish culture, traditions, and Hebrew language (proficiency a plus)
  • 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD) units or units recognized by Community Care Licensing as qualifying in an afterschool setting
  • Cleared Background Check (Fingerprints, Child Abuse Index Check and Medical/TB exam)
  • Valid and appropriate California Driver License
  • Safe driving record which meets the OFJCC insurance requirements. Must pass drug test as required for new drivers
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certified
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with children of diverse ages and backgrounds
  • Passion for building community and promoting Jewish heritage
  • Familiarity with local Jewish community resources and organizations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.  Ability to communicate information clearly (written and oral)
  • Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member with the community and other employees
  • Ability to multitask and adjust priorities when required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working in a non-profit environment
